Set up POS devices and Tap to Pay

Prepare Stripe payouts, create a POS location, and connect Stripe Terminal readers or Tap to Pay devices.

Step-by-step guide

  1. 1Open Settings, then Sales and payments.
  2. 2Complete Stripe payout setup first so Appointa can verify account, charges, payouts, and details status.
  3. 3Complete the clinic street address, city, and country on the clinic profile before creating a Stripe Terminal location.
  4. 4Use Set up POS to create or refresh the Stripe Terminal location for the clinic.
  5. 5Use Register reader to open Stripe Terminal tools and assign smart readers to the Appointa POS location.
  6. 6Use Tap to Pay to open Stripe Terminal tools for Stripe-supported Tap to Pay setup. Browser-only Tap to Pay is not available; it requires Stripe’s compatible mobile app or native Terminal SDK path.
  7. 7Return to Settings and refresh POS setup to confirm the reader count and latest setup timestamp.
  8. 8Use Appointa as the installed tablet workspace while Stripe handles the card-present device layer.
